Do the work you wish you were doing.

We're selective about what we take on. We choose work we believe will genuinely make a difference, and often design the projects ourselves rather than fitting a prescribed engagement into a standard methodology.

01 / HUNT

Go looking for adversaries.

Find and investigate adversary infrastructure, follow campaigns, connect evidence and identify opportunities to disrupt attacks before they land.

02 / ENGINEER

Build defences that fit.

Understand how an organisation really works, what an attacker could exploit, and how to design and implement defences that make a measurable difference.

03 / INVENT

Create what doesn't exist yet.

Research, experiment, write tools, explore overlooked problems and turn useful ideas into new capabilities, products and ways of working.

You'll work directly with clients, own the technical approach and have the freedom to follow the evidence. Offensive security experience is important. A genuine appetite for defence and disrupting real adversaries is essential.

THE PERSON / 003

We need someone who can take an interesting, poorly defined problem and make progress without waiting to be given a playbook.

You'll probably feel at home here if…

You've developed real technical depth, ideally in offensive security, and want to apply it to stopping real-world attacks.
You've worked with clients and can understand their problems, challenge assumptions and explain your thinking.
You're comfortable taking ownership, making decisions and seeing work through from idea to delivery.
You can investigate unfamiliar systems and figure things out rather than relying on a familiar toolkit.
You want to help build a business, not just complete the tasks on a job description.

We care far more about what you've done, how you think and what you can create than which certifications you've collected.

Security Researcher & Consultant

Adversary Hunting Defensive Engineering Security Innovation

We're looking for an experienced, self-driven security practitioner with an offensive security background and a genuine passion for defence. You'll hunt real adversaries, design tailored protections, work directly with clients and help create entirely new capabilities.

It's a hands-on role with room to shape what you do, the projects we pursue and what Lab539 becomes.

Apply for this role

Location: UK-based, primarily remote. Occasional travel to London.
Working pattern: Full-time or part-time, with flexible working.
Base salary: £50,000–£90,000 FTE, based on what you bring to the role.
Additional reward: Potential for significant bonuses and participation in the success of new capabilities you help build, subject to agreement.
Start: We're ready to hire now.
Eligibility: Must be UK-based with the right to work in the UK.
